It turns out that this scenario is not so unrealistic, at least in some sense. Just look at the AI ​​assistant models offered by the Antix platform – they can actually express, among others: artificial empathy. But how is this possible?

We’re talking about a platform for creating digital avatars of people in the metaverse. These “people” are programmed not only to recognize the feelings of the people they are writing to, but also to adapt to them when interacting. The mood of a given user is assessed through words, intonation and body language. In other words, everything that we use as humans.

The way in which such “digital people” are trained is also important in this case. Each Antix model is a unique NFT model that learns certain behaviors, gains knowledge and simply changes. Thanks to this, it is also able to adapt to the current situation.

This fact itself may be surprising, but the company responsible for this project went a step further. All models of such people are created using Unreal Engine 5. This allows you to create a more realistic, fully modeled personification for AI.

Another unique feature of Antix is ​​the fact that platform users have the opportunity to adapt their digital avatars to their emotional needs. This way, digital people can respond with the right tone of voice, making the right gestures and facial expressions.

Does empathetic AI have huge potential?

Work on making AI’s emotion systems more realistic is progressing and it is not a big secret. Over time, this boundary may actually become blurred, showing that empathy can be learned and robots will be able to feel the same as us.

It cannot be denied that this is a somewhat scary scenario, but it also offers enormous potential for the development of many sectors. Eventually, empathetic AI will be able to be a better consultant or better help with medical issues. There is even some use of such AI in corporations.

There are many indications that we are getting closer to a scenario where AI will gain something that we can call empathy. I wonder how much this will impact our lives and whether it will once again contribute to a huge leap in the further development of artificial intelligence.
